A Home Activity - Creating a Work Space
Today I have an activity for you to try with your child at home (in the Montessori Life way).
Create a child's very own "work space".
You will need:
- A little table and chair will do nicely
- A basket containing some white and coloured paper (1/4 A4 size)
- A little container of crayons (under age 3 chunky, over age 3 triangular, over age 5 retractable crayons)
- Another container with bits to stick (tin foil , leaves, buttons)
- A tub for liquid craft glue and a glue stick
This idea could provide lots of lovely collage time and your child has everything he or she needs to work alone.

Remember when setting up activities to consider important factors such as: Is your child still very oral? If so, just provide dry pasta and lentils to stick as they are perfectly edible. Show your child how to use the materials and where to put the creations to dry. Then resist the urge to get involved and let your little one work alone.
