Children emulate our actions and behaviours, mirroring the example we set for them.

While drawing with the children in class I drew a simple whale and decided to colour it in a patch-work way, a little girl next to me liked the idea and painstakingly coloured in a whole patchwork page.

This activity took her over an hour. What is most remarkable is the dedication and diligence of this little girl and look how beautiful is the finished task - all self-initiated and directed, Montessori in action!
