Activities at Montessori Life

Today we are going to have a look at - Construction Play
The Concept behind it: Playing with construction toys such as Lego blocks is very beneficial for children, it develops problem-solving skills - "how do I actually build a tower that won't tipple over ? " or "how can I build a unicorn ?"
So imagination and lots of thought comes into play, additionally it develops fine motor skills, manual dexterity and hones a child's spatial intelligence.
The rule of a good toy or activity is the less the toy can do, the more the child needs to do. Building blocks fill this criteria well, they are nothing without the added thought and imagination of the child.
